OffshoreWind Prospect consented the UK’s Burbo offshore wind farm (90MW) in 2003. In Hong Kong waters we are currently developing the first large scale offshore wind farm in Asia (200MW), in partnership with leading Asian utility, CLP. We gained environmental consent in 2009. Wind Prospect advised Babcock & Brown on their acquisition of the proposed Delaware offshore wind farm, which is expected to be the USA’s first offshore wind farm. In the summer of 2008, we also acted as technical and commercial advisors to a client looking to acquire two offshore wind farms in the UK. We advised on turbine selection, capital & operating costs, foundations, geotechnical issues, operation and maintenance strategy, procurement and constructions plans, grid and electrical systems. Recently we undertook a feasibility study to assist a client in the development of an offshore Wind farm project in South America. This included commentary on wind turbines, project timeline, geotechnical issues, the permitting/environmental impact and a financial assessment.
